I'm a world-builder, author, narrative strategist, political educator, and former filmmaker rooted in pleasure politics for people and planet. I’m influenced by and deeply embedded in all that blooms from solarpunk, thrutopia, social justice, ancestral wisdom, radical imagination, climate futurism, and Audre Lorde's "Uses of the Erotic."

I currently run GARMI, a Substack and storytelling studio, where I publish everything from personal essays to podcast episodes to a Pop/R&B breakup song about breaking up with Big Oil. I also write speculative fiction. My latest short story “Cabbage Koora: A Prognostic Autobiography” was a winner of Grist’s Imagine 2200 Climate Fiction Contest, in partnership with the NRDC, and is published in the cli-fi anthology Metamorphosis. Right now, I’m working on my first novel.

I’ve been featured in the Hollywood Climate Summit, CBC’s What on Earth, Tedx Climate AcrosstheAmericas, and the Webby Honorees, and I’ve worked with organizations such as the Native Voices Rising, Young Black Lawyers’ Organizing Coalition, Center for Cultural Power, Visit California, and The Washington Post. In my past life as a filmmaker, my first feature documentary Expedition Reclamation showed in 15+ festivals globally — along the way winning Best in Festival, Best Climate Documentary, and Best Environmental Film awards — and in over 40 community screenings around the country.

I’m based in LA on Tongva, Chumash, and Kizh land, where you’ll find me dancing, eating fresh fruit, and learning how to be a good villager.
